DAY 7: Opening Ceremony, Team Matches...Power Outage!

Yesterday, team matches got underway at 10AM. OECS Vets put up a good fight, but only Sherian Slater (Ladies 50+) was able to pick up a win against the strong Barbados team. At 5:30pm, we had the Opening Ceremony, followed by the 2nd set of matches. OECS Men faced off against Guyana, going down 0-2 before Joe Kneipp put in a flawless display to dispatch Richard Chin at #1. Kevin Hannaway was on his way to a victory, when a power outage stopped play for the night. Likewise on Court 4, OECS Vets were tied 2-2 in matches against the T&T vets (on the strength of 2 come-from-behind wins from the 2 women!) before play was halted during the last match (Men's 60+). These 2 ties will resume at 9AM this morning, following by OECS-Jamaica Men and OECS-Cayman Vets at 1PM and then the 6PM matches (play-offs for the Men and Jamaica for the Vets team). All players are giving it their all and aiming for the podium.
